Chhattisgarh News : Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the first government-run English medium college (Swami Aatmanand College) in Chhattisgarh today. The virtual inauguration of Swami Atmanand English Medium Adarsh Mahavidyalaya, the state’s first college, was conducted in Kanker.
The program was attended by the Secretary of Parliament, Shishupal Shori, and other legislators. While addressing the program, the Chief Minister stated that in order to provide excellent education to the students from the poorest families in Chhattisgarh, we initiated the establishment of Swami Atmanand Excellence Schools in the year 2020.
This initiative has gained immense popularity in the state. During the meeting, the demand for Swami Atmanand Vidyalayas in all the constituencies of the state was raised.
Today, under the Swami Aatmanand Scheme (Swami Aatmanand College), 377 schools with English medium and 350 schools with Hindi medium are being operated in the state. Alongside schools, we have also decided to start Swami Aatmanand English medium colleges.
The goal this year is to open 10 colleges, and the inauguration of one college has already taken place in Kanker. The Chief Minister said that students who graduate from high secondary schools with an English medium will continue to receive education in Swami Aatmanand English medium degree colleges.
In the past four and a half years, 26,989 teachers have been appointed. Initially, 14,500 teachers were hired, out of which 10,834 teachers have been appointed in schools.
Recently, 12,489 teachers have been recruited, which is currently in the process. Work has been done with priority in the fields of education and healthcare in all districts of the Bastar region. 314 closed schools in the Bastar region have been reopened.
