Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team resisted a fightback from Nepal on a tricky surface as Yashasvi Jaiswal’s terrific century (100), Rinku Singh’s late blitzkrieg (37*) and an all-round outing from bowlers helped the side to 23-run win. With the victory, India entered the semi-finals of the men’s cricket event.
India also made a winning start in the men’s kabaddi event, beating Bangladesh 55-18 while the women’s hockey side registered a convincing 13-0 win over Hong Kong China.
